Getting Rid of Acne with Clay Essentials!

What exactly causes acne in the first place?

Oil glands are located deep in the skin that are connected to a tiny canal that contains a hair. The canal with its contained hair is called a follicle. The glands produce oil that flows to the surface of the skin through these canals to lubricate the hair follicles and the surrounding skin.

The opening of the canal with the attached hair (follicle) is the skin pore. Oily skin occurs when an overactive oil gland enlarges and overproduces oil. Acne develops when some of the pores become blocked and prevents normal oil flow from the oil gland to reach the skin surface. A blackhead or whitehead will develop from this blockage by skin cells that have been shed from the lining of the skin pore that has bunched together.

What causes the glands to overproduce?

The hormones, particularly testosterone, that increase at puberty, and the surge of premenstrual hormones, may trigger increased production of sebum (an oily substance secreted by the sebaceous glands that lubricates the hair and skin and gives some protection against bacteria). The pores become clogged with both sebum and dead skin cells creating irritation and inflammation in the pores. The results are acne, blackheads, whiteheads, pustules, and cysts in the skin.

Clay Essentials can help get rid of Acne?

While toxins, harmful bacteria and other impurities carry a positive charge, Sodium Bentonite Clay used is negatively charged. This creates a strong magnetic-like effect which draws toxins and impurities to the surface and holds them there. These impurities are then carried away with the clay when it is removed, leaving behind skin that’s cleansed, refreshed and purified.

You’ll find that your skin is much softer and smoother after just one application of the Problem Skin Solution. However, it is important to note that blemishes may worsen before they get better. This is a natural and positive occurrence as the Volcanic Ash Clay works to detoxify the skin and pull out deeply embedded impurities. The Problem Skin Solution may be used 3 to 4 times per week. However, our Volcanic Ash Clay skincare masques are gentle enough to be used every day if desired. Also, your face may show some redness when you remove the clay. This is very normal. The Sodium Bentonite Clay increases the blood circulation to the skin, which aids in the healing process.

While some popular blemish products require two or more complicated steps with each use, the Clay Essentials Problem Skin Solution is a simple, one-step regimen. This effective masque can be used for a variety of skin problems anywhere on the body. It is a gentle, natural formula that won’t over-dry and irritate your skin like other harsh chemical products on the market today. Clay Essentials gently exfoliates, revealing more radiant skin beneath. It is also easy on your wallet. When using Clay Essentials products, it is very important to apply and remove them correctly. Below are step-by-step instructions and helpful hints which will help you achieve the best possible results from our Volcanic Ash Clay skincare masques.

The Clay Essentials Problem Skin Solution gently soothes away trouble spots and reveals softer, clearer skin beneath. It also helps prevent future acne breakouts by keeping skin free of poreclogging toxins and impurities.

1. Starting with clean, dry skin, apply a liberal amount of the product to the face, neck or other problem skin areas on the body. Let dry completely.

2. Do not rinse the product off. Instead, use a warm, wet hand towel or washcloth to wipe it gently off your skin.

3. For best results, repeat application 3 to 4 times per week.

Helpful Tips:

• Take care to avoid getting the clay on your eyelids. If the product does come into contact with your eyes, rinse gently with warm water.

• Let the clay dry completely before removing. This may take 15-20 minutes. The pulling, “tickling” sensation you feel is a sign that the product is working. To accelerate the drying process, you may use a hair dryer on the “cool” setting.

• You may notice some temporary redness of the skin following use of Clay Essentials. This is perfectly normal and is caused by increased blood circulation beneath the skin.

• Due to the exfoliating and intense cleansing action of Volcanic Ash Clay, it is important that you do not apply acid-based peels or harsh chemical products to your skin immediately after using Clay Essentials products.

• When applying the Face & Body Masque to your entire body, you may wish to stand on a towel, as the clay on the soles of your feet can become very slippery.

Before you apply a Clay Essentials masque, put in the Enhance Your Home Spa Experience meditation CD, which is yours free when you purchase the Home Spa Package (Face & Body Masque and Eye & Lip Masque). This unique CD contains enhanting melodies and inspiring affirmations to help facilite the deep relaxation and positive thoughts that go hand-in-hand with beautiful skin.
