Removing Varicose Veins and Spider Veins with Clay
Small spider veins are usually pinkish red; where as larger vessels are blue or purple in color. Sometimes a cluster may appear as a red or purple patch called blushing that are often mistaken for bruises. Unlike bruises, however, they do not fade. Another form called an ankle flare is a cluster of veins, usually associated with varicose veins, that is located on the inner ankle. A lot of people have small spider veins on their face and are usually only considered a cosmetic problem. Some cases especially those of that develop from deeper feeder veins, come with a burning sensation or a dull, throbbing pain.
Varicose veins are unusually swollen, twisted, blue veins that protrude from the surface of the skin in a rope like manner, usually on the legs. They are the result of a broken down valve or weak vein walls. Women seem to suffer more from this than men, and the incidence increases to 50% of people over age 50.
The function of veins, both the deep and superficial veins, is to carry blood back to the heart. These veins have numerous valves. If the valves stop working, blood flows into the superficial veins and down the leg. This results in veins enlarging and becoming varicose.
Varicose veins are uncomfortable and even embarrassing to most people that have them. Varicose veins can cause discomfort, such conditions as: swelling in the ankles and feet, itching of the skin, throbbing, heaviness, leg cramps. Left untreated, symptoms are likely to worsen, leading to chronic swelling, bleeding, ulceration, and inflammation of a blood clot.
Causes of Varicose and Spider Veins?
Prolonged Sitting and Standing: If you must stand for a long time, shift your weight from one leg to the other every few minutes. If you must sit for long periods of time, stand up and move around or take a short walk every 30 minutes. Sitting and standing for a prolong period of time cause a lot of pressure in the veins of your legs. The calf muscles are inactive and cannot help push the blood through the veins that returns the blood to the heart. This cause the blood to pool, resulting in increased pressure on the vein walls. This pressure drops once you begin to walk around and the muscles start helping with the circulation of the blood flow.
Trauma to the vein: Spider veins can appear after an injury after a broken ankle, surgery, any kind of an accident, or bruising, which is blood pooling as a resulting from broken veins under the skin. Spider veins can appear many years after the wound has healed. This can lead to an inflammatory response, which in turn, can result in enlarged veins.
Other factors that may contribute to varicose and spider veins are:
Binding clothing
Chronic constipation
Birth control pills/estrogen replacement therapy
High-heeled shoes
Menstrual cycle
Obesity
Number of pregnancies
Whether you're a man or a woman, you may have noticed fine, little red veins on the nose, chin, or cheeks that didn't use to be there. These are dilation of the capillaries and small blood vessels, especially in the face and thighs, producing dark red blotches. Or facial spider veins, and they appear on both men and women as a normal part of aging. They can also result from pregnancy, childbirth, birth control pills, estrogen-replacement therapy, sun damage. Some facial veins are caused by rosacea: a recurring inflammatory disorder of the skin of the nose, cheeks, and forehead that is characterized by swelling, dilation of capillaries, pimples, and a reddened appearance
Clay Can Help!
Local applications of hydrated clay, which is allowed to dry for approximate 1 to 1 1/2 hours, then washed off and reapplied, this would be for large Varicose Veins and sleeping with light clay applications. This may help but for severe varicose veins other medical alternatives may be required. Consult with your physician. The clay can be used 2-3 times a week or as needed. Once a week is a good maintenance if you have no significant skin problems, and just want to tighten, firm and soften.
