Over use of Vaccines in pets as well as humans is a growing concern of a lot of people these days.

What is the truth about vaccinations?

That is a big questions with a lot of different views. As a pet parent it is up to you to make the decission on what you think is right or wrong about giving your pet every vaccine under the sun. You have to do some research and decide what is best.

Most veterinarians choose to ingnore the research they still believe in the "old school method they were taugh", that the benefits of vaccines outweigh the risk. Another reason they would lose a great deal of income they get from giving booster shots to animals each year.

They still believe vaccinations stimulates the immune system. The truth be known it can have a very negative effect and causes a host of immune related diseases.

A growing number of dogs and cats are experiencing health and immune system disorders and holistic veterinarians believe that over-vaccination, over medicating, and poor nutrition are major causes.

Dr. Blanco, D.V.M writes: "You take healthy animals and often very quickly after you vaccinate, you can see simple things like itching of the skin or excessive licking of the paws, sometimes even with no eruptions. We see a lot of epilepsy, often after a rabies vaccination. Or dogs or cats can become aggressive for several days. Frequently, you'll see urinary tract infections in cats, often within three months after their (annual) vaccination. If you step back, open your mind and heart, you'll start to see patterns of illness post vaccination."

Some states still require annual rabies vaccines, while others now allow the three year, even that is too frequent when you consider the negative side effects of over vacccination. "The Rabies vaccine is associated with the most adverse reactions because of it's potent, says Dr. Jean Dodds (a renowned veterinarian) that bad reactions, including dealth usually occur withion two to three weeks after vaccination but they can occur up to 45 days later".

The rabies vaccine affects the nervous system, you would see seizure-like disorders like stumbling, ataxia (loss of coordination of the muscles, esp. of the extremities), dementia (severe impairment or loss of intellectual capacity and personality integration, due to the loss of or damage to neurons in the brain) and some demyelination (where the animals become wobbly and don't have proper motor skills. You also have Auto-immune diseases such as those affecting bone marrow and blood cells, joints, eyes, skin, kidney, liver, bowel, and central nervous system.

Other Signs to look for:

- Behavior changes such as aggression and separation anxiety
- Obsessive behavior,self-mutilation, tail chewing
- Pica - eating wood, stones, earth, stool
- Destructive behavior, shredding bedding
- Seizures, Epilepsy
- Fibrosarcomas at injection site
- Muscular weakness and or atrophy
- Chronic digestive problems

There is no denying that rabies is a serious disease for both humans and animals. Why subject dogs and cats to the potentially seriouse side effects of the vaccination on an annual or even a triennial basis when the duration of immunity is probably much longer. What if they would tell us (humans) that we had to get a rabies shot every year or a tetanus shot ? Would you do it? Then why do we do it to our pets? We need to stand up for them because they cannot speak for themselves.

The Rabies Study

Dr Ron Schulz, DVM, one of the worlds foremost Veterinary Immunologists, is leading the Rabies Study. This study that will hopefully demonstrate that rabies vaccines can provide a minimum of 7 years of immunity. This research is being financed by The Rabies Challenge Fund, a charitable trust founded by pet vaccine disclosure advocate Kris L.Christine of Maine, who serves as Co-Trustee with world-renowned veterinary research scientist and practicing clinician, Dr. W. Jean Dodds of Hemopet in California.

This data strongly suggests that state laws requiring annual or triennial rabies boosters for dogs are redundant. Because the rabies vaccine is the most potent of the veterinary vaccines and associated with significant adverse reactions, it should not be given more often than is necessary to maintain immunity. Adverse reactions such auto-immune diseases affecting the thyroid, joints, blood, eyes, skin, kidney, liver, bowel and central nervous system; anaphylactic shock; aggression; seizures; epilepsy; and fibrosarcomas at injection sites are linked to rabies vaccinations.

Dr. Ron Schultz's recent seminar 2008 in Atlanta on "What Everyone Needs to Know About Canine Vaccines and Vacinnation Programs" he spoke about the "new strain" of Parvo that you might hear about from your Vet when he or she insist you give your pet the "new" shot. Dr. Schultz's has studied canine viruses for over 35 years he said "there is no new strain of Parvo" and he stressed, "the current Vaccine, which is CPV2B works against ALL STRAINS just fine."

Vaccines do not protect against disease. A healthy immune system does. They damage the immune system and makes the body more susceptible to a multitude of diseases. Veterinarians seems to want to bury their heads in the ground when it comes to making the right choices for our pets. (The almighty dollar clouds their way of thinking.)

Insead they lay the quilt treatment on us, making us feel like we are non-caring pet parents. No one would advocate giving a human a 10-year tetanus shot every two years. Pet owners are consumers. They need to know there's no benefit in giving their dogs booster shots more often, and that it does put them at increased risk for adverse side effects.

Pet owners need the scientifically proven durations of immunity (how long vaccines are effective for) in order to make informed medical choices for their animals. Many veterinarians have failed to inform clients that most core veterinary vaccines protect for seven or more years, and pet owners, unaware that their animals don’t need booster vaccinations every year, have unwittingly given their companions useless booster shots that has taking an unnecessary toll on their finances and animals’ health.

The human equivalent would be physicians vaccinating patients against tetanus once every year, two years, or three years and not disclosing that the vaccines are known to be protective for 10 years.or more. We wouldn’t let that happen to us. Why do we let that happen to our precious pets?

Vaccines do not protect against diseases. Only the immune system can!

If the immune system is whole, healthy and strong, then IT will build natural immunity as the puppy or kitten comes in contact with viruses. The point is that vaccine's BREAK the immune system down. The immune system was designed by Mother Nature to handle ONLY ONE virus at the time. When a multiple vaccine is introduced, two things happen:

1. The additives in the vaccine suspend/depress the immune system so that it will not react against all the viruses in the vaccines, while the vaccine viruses are reproducing in the gut in order to 'produce immunity'. This turn off of the immune system lasts upwards of 45 to 90 days. During this time, your pet is totally unprotected! The vaccines have not provided immunity, and the immune system is not functioning because the vaccine additives have shut it down.

It is during this time that most puppies get sick and die! They are exposed to the viruses from the vaccines without an immune system to protect them! When the viruses have stopped reproducing in the gut and the vaccine's effect on the immune system has stopped, then the immune system is 'awaken' again, but now it will try to build immunity against MANY viruses (the ones in the vaccine) but it is not designed to do so. So it immediately breaks down in an attempt to protect the body against all these UNNATURAL viruses that have been forced into the blood stream!

The whole process of vaccination goes against every natural function of the body!! In nature, no one ever becomes sick from TWO different viruses. The body will ALWAYS handle at least one of them.

In Nature, the contact with viruses is NEVER done thru the blood stream, but thru the mucous membranes, which in their own, already contain the first line of defense of the body and the cells that will alert the body and the immue system to protect the body against the virus and build immunity against the virus.

So when you give a vaccine, you are breaking every single law of nature!!

2. The second thing that happens after the breakdown of the immune system in its attempt to build immunity to various viruses is the beginning of auto-immune disease. Once the immune system is in over drive trying to attack all the different viruses that have been introduced by the vaccine's, it no longer recognizes what cells to attack and which ones to protect! So the immune system is now incapable of being able to tell what are bad cells/viruses/bacteria and which ones are not. This over-reaction triggers allergies, which is ALWAYS the first sign of auto-immune disease!

The ONLY choice you have, if you want to protect and take care of your pet is to NOT vaccinate it! Build his immune system with the proper diet, plenty of fresh water, fresh air, exercise and don't insult his body with vaccines, toxins and drugs! ONLY THEN will his immune system will be strong enough to fight off all the disease.

Vaccines are the NUMBER ONE CAUSE of both acute and chronic diseases in both animals and children! There is NOTHING to prevent the damage of a vaccine, except not giving them!

Hemolytic Anemia: that is where the body breaks down and removes red blood cells. Hemolytic anemia is due to increased hemolysis (destruction) of red blood cells.

There is some thinking that vaccination can trigger IMHA. Insect bites have also been implicated. The relationship between recent vaccination and IMHA development is one of the factors which has led most universities to go to an every 3 year schedule for the standard DHLPP vaccine for dogs rather than the traditional annual schedule.

Vaccine associated fibrosarcom Skin Cancer in Cats: Also called Vaxosarcomas; The most common sites for fibrosarcomas are the area between the shoulder, the lower back & hind limb. When laws change to require rabies vaccination for cats, the incidence of fibrosarcomas increases in that area.

Addison's is an auto-immune disease and vaccines are the number one cause of auto-immune diseases! The adrenal gland produces hormones which regulate the level of sodium and potassium (mineralocorticoids) and mediate the body’s response to physiologic and psychologic stress.

Sometimes you have to vaccinate your dog. Find out what your State Laws are. Many boarding kennels require proof of vaccination, as do obedience schools. Check them out there are place that know the harm of vaccines and don't require your pets to have all the shots. Remember LESS is BEST.
